Tourmaline and Uralite The Historic Hilltop Site, Powers Farm, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York. Collected by Michael Walter, August 27, 2015. These tourmalines have been tested and shown to be dravite on their outsides and to have cores of fluoruvite (reference Chamberlain, S.C., Robinson, G. W., Walter, M. R., Chiarenzelli, J. R., Lupulescu, M. V. and Bailey, D. G. 2016.  Collector's guide to the tourmaline of Pierrepont, New York. Schiffer Publishing, Ltd., Atglen, PA.  p. 114-117).  This one is a damage-free plate with the mineral combination most unique to Powers Farm. 8.5 x 7 x 3.5 cm.  Nice luster and aesthetics. This is a very high quality, damage-free example.  The uralite is a talc/tremolite pseudomorphs after diopside.  It is not common to find these in combination with the tourmalines but when they are they provide a nice contrast in luster and crystal forms between the two minerals.   $185
