Sphalerite   Level 3,970, New Fold, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected 2022.  This is the fine material first seen from this area in 2019.  Large is competition grade single crystal that is complex, gemmy, and lustrous.  Measures 23 x 2.1 x 1.5 cm.  Damage-free.  Large red core in base does lessen the transparency.   An outstanding gem thumbnail sized piece.   $490
