Fulgurite From lightning strike that occurred in Oswego, New York on August 25, 2008. Collected by Jeffery Shallit of Kitchener, Ontario and nephew and sons (Joseph, Jonah and Arlo). Reference Rocks & Minerals magazine, May June 2011 issue, vol. 86, no. 3, p. 264-70. This ground fulgurite measures 4.7 x 3.3 x 3 cm. It is composed of a damage-free, twisted tube that shows off its glassy interior on its ends. There are numerous small offshoots and one end as a relatively large attached piece of light colored shale that measures 2.7 cm. $60
