Diopside and Tremolite     Wilson Road, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter, July 15, 2022.  This typical example is a single crystal measuring 3.5 x 1.4 x 1.1 cm.  What is not typical of this specimen is its tiny areas of transparency and its exceptional, mirror like luster.  There is an interesting striped patterning but even more unique is a flat tremolite crystal growing in epitaxy on the back of the diopside.  The tremolite is also green so it blends in well and is difficult to discern.  No damage.  $125
