Calcite with Anhydrite   Empire State Mine, Level 4,051, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected June 2023.  This piece is 7 x 5.9 x 4.3 cm.  It is composed of modified schalenohedral crystals that formed on anhydrite.  Some transparent anhydrite remains on one end of the piece.  It is in exceptional condition except for a bad scuff on the bottom of the specimen.  The piece actually sits well on this area.  The transparency and luster are excellent and the color is a light lavender.  The surfaces are beautifully mixed and interesting when closely inspected.  A top shelf example of this fine material.  $4,500
