Geologic Desires is owned and operated by Michael Walter.  The company was one of the first on the internet and before that was doing business by "snail mail".  The business became a full-time job in June 2017 when I retired from a long career in education.  More information is available at  Michael R. We work very hard at obtaining the best minerals available at affordable prices.  I believe damage should be nonexistent or minimal while the aesthetics of the specimen should be the highest available.  Keeping these ideals in mind has produced a strong base of dedicated customers whom I value.  Like many dealers I am buying old collections and am at the major shows in locations such as West Springfield, Massachusetts, Denver, Colorado, Dallas, Texas, Detroit, Michigan, and Tucson, Arizona.

Geologic Desires is based in rural Saint Lawrence County not far from the Canadian border. Our mineral gallery is near the town of Nicholville on Route 11B, but due to our isolated location most of our business is done over the internet and at shows.  

You will also find me volunteering my speaking services and guiding field trips for clubs and larger organizations such as the New York State Geological Association, Eastern Federation of Mineral and Lapidary Societies, and Rochester Mineralogical Symposium.
